How to get the Followers gadget back

If you are kind of new to blogger, and want to add the Followers gadget, you will notice that it's not an option because apparently Google is trying to popularize the Google+ Followers. Well, most people don't have a Google+ account and would rather follow your blog with their blogger account, so here is how to get the Followers gadget back! It's really easy and works for anyone.

Step one:

Go to Design > Layout > Add a Gadget and scroll down to HTML/Java Script. Open up the gadget and copy the URL on the top of the window.

Copy the highlighted part, make sure to get the whole thing!

Step two:

Paste this URL into any text editing program, like notepad. Now you will want to replace "HTML" with "Followers" in the code.

BEFORE:

AFTER:

http://www.blogger.com/rearrange?blogID=2268201694931047117&sectionId=sidebar-right-1&action=editWidget&widgetType=Followers&referrer=directory

Step three:

Now open a new tab in your web browser and paste the edited URL into it. The following should show up:

Click "Save". Now for some reason, the old Blogger interface will appear. This doesn't change anything, it's the same thing.

Click "Save" and you're done!
