Chobots is back up!

I'm happy to announce that after over a week of downtime, Chobots is back up again :)

Today we celebrated with a mini party, as well as a bit of rain. In addition, all users have been granted citizenship. We hope you have fun and play safe!

New Admin

Hey friends! Recently, about a few hours ago, a staff member has been promoted to being an administrator. Here are some hints on who he is:

• He loves listening to alternative rock music, his favorite band is Paramore
• His favorite colors are black, red, and blue
• He was a moderator, support assistant, developer, and a team manager
• He loves spending time at the beach when he has free time

If you haven't guessed yet, it's Philip/Pres! 

Philip has been working very closely with the team, helping make the game with new ideas as well as keeping it safe. If you see Pres around, make sure you drop by a congratulations to his great achievement!

I'm 800!

It's been a great 800 days on one of the most wonderful virtual game - Chobots! I'm proud to say I'm one of the oldest active players, and I plan to keep it that way for quite a while!

From the time I was merely a zero age newbie, I can surely say it's been an interesting journey. The game has changed so much, with introductions to new features like the Forum, the journalists program, the premium shop, and much, much more!

Nevertheless, I will always stay the same person, and that's my commitment to you. I hope I can wish you a happy 800th in the near future!

Agents Meeting

It's that time of the month again - an Agents Meeting!

Each month, a meeting is held with all the agents on Chobots to discuss some important news and topics regarding game play, and to ensure that Chobots is at its maximum potential. For this particular meeting, the main topic of discussion will be the future development of Chobots in 2014.

The meeting will be held in the Agents HQ on Saturday, December 14th, at 12PM cho-time. Of course, the attendance is not mandatory, but is recommended. All agents that attend the whole meeting will receive a special gift.

Small Chobots Notices

Hi everybody! I hope you are having a good weekend. Let's jump straight into what's new today on Chobots.
Two new items have been added on the main blog sidebars. The first thing, a small poll, asks which user interface you prefer. The "Original Chobots UI" is what is being used now, and you can click here for the "'New' Chobots UI" that was released a while back in 2011. (image credit to Minymo123). I wonder if they're thinking of switching to the new UI!
The second addition  is a notification that the Chobots staff will be looking for a team of testers soon! Make sure to keep your eyes glued to the main blog and Forum, as applications could pop up anywhere!

Chobot Awards!

Late night post!
Anyways, I wanted to try out this new thing called "Chobot Awards" where users get recognized for great accomplishments! It could be for literally... anything!
So first up, we got a very special duo that specializes in blogging and making templates for other users.

 

That's right! Barkleschnoff and Idonotlikepeach have made very amazing blog templates, as well as being an author on some notable websites such as Camera's Cho blog and Rosey2000's blog.

They are kind enough to take their time and help us out! Give them a big round of applause, and make sure to say thank you every once and a while for all they do.

Drytoby is probably one of the funniest people I've ever come across on .net! She is one who takes a break from all the seriousness and just likes to crack a few jokes now and then.

On the other hand, Drytoby can be very mature and helps many users in the community.

The Team Needs YOU!

Are you bored? In a summer funk?
Currently,  the team is looking for positions to fill during the summer. I've added descriptions below:

As the Premium Guru, you need to be able to keep the $hop, Daily Draw, and Citizenship page up to date by thinking of new offers, ideas, packages, etc.

Requirements for this job are that you need to be active, have proper communication skills, and be motivated for thinking up new ideas.

It is preferred that you have past experience in marketing jobs as well.

This position is for users who enjoy writing and have a lot of free time on their hands. You need to work close with the staff members to produce a lot of text in a short amount of time such as documents and main blog posts.

For this job, you need to have a comprehensive knowledge of the English language. Working independently and co-operatively will play a big factor in this position.

 

 





The Creative Director will be in charge of parties, events, competitions, and other activities. A lot of time will be spent thinking up and planning ideas for the Chobots future.

Requirements for this position: You need to be organized, and have a creative mind. You should have a fun spirit and motivation while dreaming up thoughtful and inventive ideas for the game.

Side note: This is not a blogging position.

Introducing: Councilors

Hey Chos!

Yet again, we are implementing a new feature into the game. Here, take a look:



Yep! Jake has a Councilor badge. Everyone's asking so many questions, so I recorded all of Jake's explanation and I'll just put it down below VVV

 

What are Councilors?

Councilors are members of the Chobots community that communicate with users and listen to their opinions. They then send those to the administrators, where they can make important decisions by voting in all areas of Chobots.

There will be the following councilors chosen:

-2 juniors (of young and old age)

-2 citizens (of young and old age)

-1 agent

-1 journalist

-1 admin

-1 moderator

 

How are Councilors chosen?

There are two ways a Councilor is chosen.

1. Elected by a group/committee

Here is the way this works:

-The Forum team elects 1 junior

-The Tester team elects 1 citizen

-The Moderation team elects 1 moderator

-The Agents team elects 1 agent

-The Community will elect 1 junior and 1 citizen

You will need to be nominated in order to be elected (by the administration team).

Each group will receive a list of nominees, and then they can discuss and choose one councilor.

2. Be chosen by the team

Please note that this usually happens when a council member has resigned or was removed.

 

How can I become a Councilor?

Jake left us this simple statement:

"To become a councilor, you need to show interest and follow the rules."

 

Other important information:

-Once you are a councilor, you are one forever. (Unless of course, your break the rules or resign.)

-Alone, councilors don't have much power. But together, they are very important to the community.

 

So that's what Councilors are! If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to comment below.
