Back-to-school fun!

School is in session, which calls for many fun activities through chobots! How about we start off with a couple fun contest?

Your first one is board games. All games in the academy street have been opened for you to enjoy and have a good challenge with your friends. We need to get in tune for the school, so you'll have to use your brain for all these activities!
The contest will last until the 31st of August. The top players will receive prizes after that. Good luck!

Next contest we got going on is a fun storytelling one! For this contest, you need to create a scrapbook, comic, or video to show any fun events you did this summer. It could be anything from hanging out with your friends at the pool, to taking a vacation to the tropics!
Remember, all submissions will need to be commented on the main blog post. Any other place, such as support, will not be accepted. You have till the 31st of August to complete these entries. Have fun!

Chobots Fashion Guide

Hello and thanks for clicking my guide! This will highlight the fashion trends of Chobots. I truly hope this helps you!

To start off, let's answer the simple question: What IS fashion? When searched on Wikipedia, this simple statement is given:

Quote

Fashion is a general term for a popular style or practice. [It] refers to a distinctive and often habitual trend in the style with which a person dresses, as well as to prevailing styles in behavior.

Basically what this is saying: Fashion is what is considered "in" at the time. It's popularized by media and the people.

Now, this might pertain to real-life fashion, but what about Chobots fashion?
I like to think about chobots fashion divided into three categories:

The simple style:

This style is often a simple hair, shirt, and shoes (sometimes pants), accompanied by one or two accessories such as a scarf, hat, or hand item. Most Chobots wear this style because it is cheap and sleek.

The popularized style:

Popular styles change quite often. They usually feature clothing that is "in" or relevant to the season/time. Some features of popularized styles include bows, wings, and various hand items.

The signature style:

Can you tell who these users are simply by looking at their clothing? Signature styles are very unique, as they fit the users personality. You are usually recognized by your outfit(s) or particular style that you wear often.

Now that you have seen different types of styles, it's time to determine...

Hi everyone, the $hop has been restocked with all new items!

RULE UPDATE

So today the team decided to update the rules! You can go to chobots.net/rules to read the current ones. To get a glimpse of this, here are what has been updated.

UPDATE: The rule "No Dating" has been added back to the Official Rules.

Advertising: On Chobots, we encourage you to share your creative and interesting Chobots blogs, images, and videos, but please keep in mind that sharing sites that are not related to Chobots in anyway is prohibited. 

Asking for Items: We have many wonderful games for you to play on Chobots, through which you can earn plenty of bugs to purchase clothing and furniture for your Chobots home. Please don't beg other players for items as they worked hard to purchase them. 

Asking for Agency: Becoming a Chobots agent is a great goal to have and we encourage everyone to try their best, however please do not ask to be an agent. Asking moderators to make you an agent will lower your chances of becoming one in the future. If you want to learn some more information about becoming an agent, please read this Chobots blog post to get more information!

Bad Language: Inappropriate Language: To make sure everyone feels comfortable and safe in the Chobots game, using inappropriate language is strictly forbidden. isn't allowed. This includes talks or hints about sex. If you wouldn't say a word in front of your parents, grandparents, or teacher, then do not say it on Chobots.

Bullying: Chobots is meant to be a fun and friendly environment for children, therefore we forbid any form of bullying or harassment taking place that might offend or disrupt another player's gameplay.

Cheating: We want all users to play on Chobots in a fair and fun manner, therefore the use of 3rd party programs to gain an unfair advantage by any means is disallowed, as well as using alternate accounts to obtain points and/or items in contests we hold. Also, please keep in mind that taking somebody else's work and claiming it as your own is not acceptable either.

Dating: Chobots is a family game targeted for children from 7 to 14 years old, therefore we do not allow dating or any sexual actions to take place on the game. 

Gifting: Chobots currently offers exclusive Citizens the ability to gift. Gifting is meant to be used responsibly. "Gift for Gift" (trading one item for another) is allowed, but the Chobots Team will not be held accountable if you or another Chobot has been scammed. You take full responsibility of where and to who you send your items. Be careful! 

Personal Information: Your safety and personal privacy is our top concern. You are not allowed to share personal information such as emails, social media, addresses, and phone numbers. Do not ever ask others for personal information as it might threaten the security of another player.

Scamming: Scammers are permanently removed from Chobots servers without warning as scamming other users is strictly forbidden on the game. All scammers should be reported, with proof, to support. Scamming does include buying items for friends, then refunding your purchase.

Spamming: While we want you to share your mind on Chobots, please refrain from flooding the room with useless clutter. Spamming can be typing messages containing gibberish, or just sending a lot of messages repeatedly to cause lag or disrupt someone's gameplay. Using the music instruments repeatedly can also be considered spamming, so please be careful.

The rules that are crossed out are no longer official, and thus void. The red text means that the rule has been changed and/or slightly altered.

Also, $100 (Jake) came online to clear things up.

"Dating has been removed from the rules, yes. In no way do we support dating and encourage dating or romantic relationships through Chobots. However, we do not forbid it either. We are giving more freedom and responsibility to our players. Like I've said before, we don't condone dating other players, but Chobots is the community's game and we are not going to control your every action. While the moderators still keep a strong eye on what's going on in the game, it's your own responsibility to find out what's right and wrong. You are free to think and feel how you like, but plese try not to be offensive or inappropiate towards others. Moderators will still take action if they think you are crossing the line." -$100

A few updates

Hey guys! The team has added a few new updates for you all, here take a look:

After high demand, the old color pallet in all the underground walls has been implemented:

Woohoo! Hope everyone likes this old feature coming back.

Another update: The "Contact Moderator" button is now available to citizens, not just agents.

I hope the moderators are quick to respond in an emergency! But remember, don't abuse this button or else the feature may be removed.

Hello! It's a beautiful Thursday morning for UPDATES!!

First of all, the high demanded trade is back, but only if you buy citizenship packages.

Fun Styles for Less

For lack of anything else to post, I spent my day dreaming up cost friendly and fun styles for the juniors out there! So here you go:

STYLE #1: Basic Girl

This is pretty plain and simple, yet looks nice on any chobot. It's also super cheap! Feel free to add hand items, head items, etc to spice things up.

 

STYLE #2: Basic Boy

Again, basic guys clothes. It makes you look smart :~) Also you can add whatever you want. Just do whatever!

 

STYLE #3: Cute Girls

THIS STYLE WAS INSPIRED BY IDONOTLIKEPEACH AKA TWOLEGERS OMG i'm obsessed with this like HOW CUTE IS THAT!!! It's not too pricey and there's like millions of color combinations you can do.

Get Creative

Hi! So there's a new contest currently going on the main blog where your creative side will get to shine!



For this contest, you need to make a story that contains a plot, characters, and a setting. You can do this in many ways:

 

-Write some paragraphs explaining your story

-Draw your story on the graffiti walls or on paper

-Write a script and film your story

-Create a comic depicting your story

-Make a scrapbook about your story

-Show your story on TV

-Write about your story in the newspaper

Music Jam!

We all love music, so the team decided to dedicate a whole day to jamming out on our favorite tunes!

You are asked to purchase (or wear) an instrument and make some music, along with other songs the moderators will be playing throughout the day.

There will also be a contest associated with the Music Jam. To enter this contest, you need to form your own band (two users minimum, five players maximum) and play your instruments somewhere on Chobots . Take a picture or record a video of your band rocking out! After that, submit your entry here in a form of a comment. Be sure to include the name of your band members, as well as the name of the band. The winning group will receive citizenship!

Note: You may not participate in more than one band, and all submissions must be uploaded to tinypic (if it is a video, upload it to youtube) Submissions close on August 8th.
