Malicious Software and the Chobots forum

Attention to all users! Please read this because this is very important and might've happened to you.

 

The Chobots staff has received multiple reports regarding a potentially dangerous file or program being shared via Skype. This file or program ends with .exe (run for 50k.exe, CocoaInstall.exe, SHEENIEB PANEL WINX7P.exe, and item hack.exe) and has been found to install malicious content on your computer.

The file or program is said to provide an account with 50,000 bugs once activated or installed on your computer. The staff strongly advise that you do not accept or download this file or program in anyway.

What this file or program really does:
This program provides remote access to the computer it is installed on and can get into your webcam.

The file or program is currently being investigated by our Administrators and Developers. If you have any further information, please provide a report to admin@chobots.net. Let your friends be aware of this situation as soon as possible. If you have accidently downloaded it, please delete/uninstall it as soon as possible. Thank you for your awareness!

Now that I have your attention, I want to make sure you all are aware that the forum has reopened!

The Chobots Forum is a community page where you can discuss with other users about the game and other off-topic stuff. You can participate in contests, earn sweet awards, and even run your own forum blog! User feedback, suggestions, and ideas will be checked frequently on the forum by the Chobots Team. Unfortunately, after a critical error, if you had an account on the old Chobots Forum, you will have to re-register. All data from the old forum was also lost into cyberspace and the developers were unable to retrieve any lost information. The staff apologies for any inconveniences that this might've caused for users.
Check out the forum and register today! Leave any feedback in the feedback section on the forum of what you think once you've gotten around it!

Talent on the Forums

Have you ever noticed the amount of talent on the Chobots forums? I know I do! That's why I'm here to make some small people get recognized for their hard work and amazing talent.

First up, we have Sweetoreos and his spectacular writing skills. Sweetoreos stories are something that you can read in your free time, and you won't be able to stop!

You can check out Sweetoreo's threads and all chapters of his stories by clicking HERE. Some of my favorites are Survival and Secrets and Magic.

Next we have Sweets and her phenomenal designs and drawings. I'll just give you a couple here, but the rest can be found in her full list of forum threads.

These designs belong to Sweets, I do not own them.

Wow, that is truly a spectacular talent. Never stop drawing, Sweets!

Finally, we have Dean with his astonishing graphic designing skills. With his signature requests thread, I was lucky enough to obtain this beautiful signature:

Gorgeous, right? And I'm sure he'll continue making these stunning graphics in the future.

Forum Updates

Hi everybody!
The staff have worked hard and prepared a brand new Forum update for you all to enjoy, take a look:

The overall theme is a bolder blue, brighter and eye catching.

The threads look a bit more modern than they used to.

The toggle panel has also changed to a deep blue.

I hope you enjoy these updates as much as I do! Who knows what other features the team has in store next?

Amazing Artist: Egotisticalslug

Another Chobot Award? ok

Egotisticalslug (also known by her forum username, "Zetsuen") is probably one of the most talented users I've ever met. Her artwork can be found all across the Forum, as well as on other sites like DeviantArt. She enjoys drawing anime, and sometimes even takes the time to draw our very own users!

Forum Legends

Hi guys! Today the Forum team decided on two new Forum Legends. These users consistently make quality posts and are active on the Forum. Can you guess who they are?

(aren't you proud of my sooper dooper editing skillz)

That's right! Grace and Luna are our new Forum legends. Let's just say that I'm not surprised these two were chosen, simply because their posts are of excellent content and I see them online all the time. Well done, you two!

Forum Updates

Hello!
If you were online today, and you tried logging onto the forums, you might have noticed it underwent some major changes.
First of all, there is another brand new theme:

Nice! I believe that this is a compromise for users who thought the previous theme was too bright/dark, because this one is in-between, or neutral.

 

Next, there is a new "like" feature for posts/threads:

This could be compared to Facebook, where you can like posts and comments. I think this will make users feel good about their posts. It would also prevent spam, because instead of commenting "nice job!", you can just like it instead.

 

There is also a status update feature:

You can enter any news you have, important things, or just whatever! But remember: avoid spamming status updates.

This can also be compared to Facebook!

 

Next, you can now quote a user in your thread/post, using the "@" tag:

And this feature can be compared to Twitter. Also, you do get notified if you are quoted in a post/thread.





 

 

Next, there is a new page on the Forums titled "Help" in which users can read frequently asked questions about the forum:

Finally, the Forum Rules have been updated:

 

The added rules are: False reporting, and Hacking.

There is currently a new contest going on, called "Chollywood Celebrities Contest". For this contest, your task is to show the lives of chobot celebrities. Some ideas are:

-Celebrities filming an exciting and action packed movie in Chollywood

-Juicy celeb gossip

-The most embarrassing moments of celebrites

The due date for this contest is July 20th.

A new rule: all images must be hosted by Tinypic, otherwise the entry will not count.

The UI buttons as well as the playercard buttons have been simplified.

 

Music Week on the 24th has been cancelled for unknown reasons.

 

Our good friend, Comebackiid, has been re-promoted to agency! Well done, CBK!

 

Also, the main blog header has been updated.

 

And I hope you guys enjoyed the 'Dress Like a Mod' party that took place a couple days ago! Here are the winners:
